Becca is an educator committed to bringing liberatory pedagogical and community-building practices into the museum space. She is the Associate Director of Education at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. While at the Brooks, Becca began the Youth Council—a leadership program for high school students to engage as partners in museum programming. She supported the curation of the Youth Council’s first exhibition of student work, Who You See and Who We Are: A reflection on teenage identity, culture, and change. Her graduate research centers on equitable youth-adult partnerships in museums, student-curated exhibitions, and critical pedagogies, and culminates in her thesis, “To Think Otherwise in Order to Act Otherwise:” The Facilitation of Teen-Curated Exhibitions to Establish Museums as Sites of Hope. Becca holds an MA in Art History from Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, and a BA in Urban Studies and Media Studies from Rhodes College, Memphis, TN.
